Alyssa Healy is frustrated by an intruder during WPL 2024

Alyssa Healy, the captain of the Australian team and wife of Mitchell Starc, was displeased with the incident. She tackled the pitch invader while performing her wicket-keeping duties.

During the UP Warriors vs Mumbai Indians match in WPL 2024, a spectator breached the security layer and ran onto the field, resulting in a delay. Healy's team, UP Warriorz, won the match by seven wickets at M Chinnaswamy Stadium.  

As the UP Warriors skipper watched, the intruder ran past and the woman attempted to grab him. The fan's speed slowed, and security escorted him away. The 33-year-old now joins the ranks of Australian athletes such as Andrew Symonds and Sam Kerr who have faced pitch invaders.

UP chased down the target of 162 with 21 balls to spare, thanks to Grace Harris' unbeaten 38 off 17 balls and Deepti Sharma's 27 not out.

Kiran Navgire also played a crucial role as an opener, scoring 57 off 31 balls. MI had earlier posted 161 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their 20 overs, with Hayley Matthews top-scoring with 55 off 47 balls. The Warriorz secured their first victory of WPL 2024, following defeats to Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore in their previous two matches.
