“No electricity, filthy toilets, black marketing of tickets, no passes for CSK team”
The Hyderabad Cricket Association has been embroiled in several controversies. Currently, the electricity dues have not been cleared, resulting in the department cutting off the electricity connection to the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad.
Mohammad Azharuddin, the legendary Indian batsman, has made serious allegations against the state cricket body, claiming that
the stadium lacks electricity and that the toilets are filthy. He revealed that the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) is involved in black marketing of the wickets and that the visiting Chennai Super Kings (CSK) team has not been issued passes.
Azhar, who was once the president of the HCA, has always been at loggerheads with other bigwigs and influential figures associated with Hyderabad cricket.
He went to X to report on the current status of the stadium:
“Hyderabad’s IPL 2024 matches suffer from ongoing issues: bad toilets, inadequate water facilities, and unauthorized entry persist under HCA’s watch. Critics seem blind to these shortcomings. Members denied tickets while black market thrives. Even CSK management struggles and have not been given passes for today’s match. Electricity cut due to unpaid dues. The APEX council of HCA promised reform but delivered only chaos. Where’s the change?”
