Champions back home at last

After a tumultuous journey back from Barbados, the T20 World Cup champions, Team India, have finally arrived in Delhi to a hero's welcome. The delays caused by Hurricane Beryl did not dampen the spirits of the victorious cricket team, as they were greeted with tremendous enthusiasm upon their arrival at the Delhi airport.

The bustling streets of Delhi reverberated with joy as the triumphant Indian cricket team made their way to the ITC Maurya Hotel on Thursday morning. Led by Captain Rohit Sharma, the team was welcomed with spirited dhol beats and energetic bhangra performances. The celebration continued with a lavish feast, featuring Virat Kohli's favourite Chola Bhatura, and a specially crafted cake adorned with team pictures and the vibrant colours of the Indian jersey.

The head chef at the ITC Maurya Hotel expressed his pride in preparing a culinary experience fit for the champions, showcasing the appreciation and admiration they have for the team. Fans, unable to contain their excitement, cheered and applauded as Team India arrived at the hotel, basking in the glory of their recent victory.

One fan, Anushka Mukherjee, shared her admiration for the team, singling out standout performances by players like Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant. The players themselves, touched by the warm reception, displayed a mix of pride and exhaustion from their triumphant journey.

Following their arrival in Delhi, the team is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi before continuing their celebrations in Mumbai. Under the dynamic leadership of Rohit Sharma, Team India emerged victorious against South Africa in a thrilling match at Kensington Oval in Barbados.
