The celebrations for Team India's T20 World Cup 2024 victory continued with a special cake-cutting ceremony at the ITC Maurya hotel in Delhi.
Rohit Sharma, Rahul Dravid, and Virat Kohli led the cake-cutting ceremony, which featured a three-tier cake designed in the colours of India's T20I jersey (orange, blue, and white). The cake was topped with a replica of the T20 World Cup trophy and adorned with photographs of India's victorious moments.
The hotel staff and fans cheered as the champions celebrated their success. Rohit Sharma, accompanied by head coach Rahul Dravid and star batter Virat Kohli, was central to the festivities.
Following the ceremony, the team prepared to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence in Delhi, wearing special 'India champions' jerseys. Vice-captain Hardik Pandya and other players joined in the celebrations before heading to the team bus.
After meeting PM Modi, the team will fly to Mumbai where they are scheduled for a victory parade near Marine Drive and Wankhede Stadium in the evening. The day will culminate with a grand celebration ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium alongside dignitaries from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
It's a fitting celebration for India's cricketing heroes, marking their triumphant return and honouring their remarkable achievements in the T20 World Cup 2024.
