BCCI has made a significant change in the India squad for the upcoming IND vs ZIM T20I series against Zimbabwe. Nitish Reddy, who was initially selected for the tour, has been ruled out due to injury. In his place, star all-rounder Shivam Dube has been brought into the squad.
The IND vs ZIM T20I series will feature a second-string Indian team facing Zimbabwe in a five-match series starting on July 6. The BCCI announced the alteration to the squad recently, with Shivam Dube replacing the injured Nitish Reddy.
Dube, who is currently part of the Indian team in the T20 World Cup 2024, was not initially selected for the series against Zimbabwe. However, he has now been included as a replacement for Reddy, whose injury is being monitored by the BCCI Medical Team.
Shivam Dube is known for his explosive left-handed batting and right-arm medium-fast bowling, although his performance in the T20 World Cup has been average. The updated India squad for the series includes Shubman Gill as captain, along with other promising young players.
The five T20I matches in the series will all start at 4:30 PM IST and will be held at the Harare Sports Club in Zimbabwe.
