Chennai Super Kings release Mushfiqur Rahman
Chennai Super Kings have begun their IPL 2024 campaign positively, winning two matches. They are currently third in the standings after losing to Delhi Capitals. CSK's next match is on April 5 when they take on Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. But star man Mustafizur Rahman will be absent.
The Bangladesh pacer has returned home, as reported by Bangladeshi website BDCrictime. The left-arm pacer needs to complete visa formalities for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, which will be held in the West Indies and USA.
According to the report, Mustafizur has arrived in Bangladesh for biometric testing. As a result, he is expected to miss some matches for CSK in IPL 2024.
Mustafizur's biometrics will be taken on April 4, which means he will be unavailable for CSK's next match against SRH on April 5. As per the report, the star Bangladeshi pacer will not be available for CSK's upcoming match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on April 8.
This is a significant blow for CSK, as Mustafizur Rahman has been in excellent form for the franchise, taking seven wickets in just three games. As the leading wicket-taker in IPL 2024, he currently holds the purple cap.
