Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal lost his cool during his team's match against Rajasthan Royals in Delhi.
Jindal was seen erupting twice, once after Sanju Samson's controversial wicket and again after the Capitals' 20-run victory to keep them alive in the play-off race. He has faced criticism from the online community as a result. The video of Jindal's outburst went viral, but no one noticed the post-match gesture he made for Samson and RR.
On their Instagram handle, the Capitals posted a surprising incident of Jindal, Samson, and RR owner Manoj Badale meeting after the match. In quite a contrast to his previous behaviour, Jindal shook hands with Samson and spoke briefly with the Royals captain.
The Delhi side captioned the post:
"Our Chairman and Co-owner, Parth Jindal, caught up with Rajasthan Royals’ captain Sanju Samson & owner Manoj Badale, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium last night, after what was an exceptional contest of cricket. Parth also extended his congratulations to the RR skipper on being selected for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup."
With this win, DC has shown tremendous improvement in the second half of the season and now sits fifth on the IPL 2024 points table. After winning just two of their opening five matches, DC has won five of their last seven to prove themselves a formidable opponent. The emergence of Jake Fraser-McGurk has been hugely encouraging for the Capitals, as the young Australian has lit up the competition with his explosive play.
