Dinesh Karthik shares his retirement plan from the IPL after representing six franchises

Dinesh Karthik, an IPL veteran, announced his retirement from the IPL after this season. He made the announcement after his team lost to Chennai Super Kings at the Chepauk Stadium on Friday,  March 22. Karthik stated that the iconic venue could be the site of his final IPL match. Having played for six different IPL teams over the years, including a stint as captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders, Karthik has been a part of the league since its inception.

Dinesh Karthik has played for several IPL teams including Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Lions, Punjab Kings, KKR and RCB.

Before the start of the new season, there were reports that Karthik might retire after this IPL season to focus on commentary. During the post-match press conference, Karthik confirmed that he was considering retirement.

Asked if this could be his last match at Chepauk, the veteran said he hoped to return for the play-offs if they are held in Chennai. However, he admitted that if the play-offs were to be held elsewhere, this may have been his final game at the stadium.
