Despite his highest run tally since 2011 for the Chennai Super Kings this year, his impact has been underwhelming. Similarly, his bowling effectiveness on flat pitches has been questioned, leading to doubts about his place in the Indian XI.
Although Jadeja was backed by the selectors for the T20 World Cup, his performances in the first two matches of the tournament have been below par. With limited opportunities to bat and marginal success with the ball, there is growing scrutiny over his role in the team.

Paras Mhambrey, the bowling coach, emphasised the team's belief in Jadeja's abilities, citing his vast experience and potential to turn things around in a single game. He also acknowledged that other players, such as Shivam Dube, are facing similar challenges.
