Faf du Plessis criticised his teammates for RCB's 6-wicket defeat against CSK, blaming the loss on the batters

RCB captain Faf du Plessis was unhappy with his team's batting performance after losing the opening match to CSK.   The one-sided match saw CSK restrict RCB to a score of 173.

Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja led CSK to victory with Dube scoring an unbeaten 34 off 28 balls, including 4 fours and a six. Jadeja, an experienced campaigner, remained unbeaten on 25 off 17 balls, with the aid of three fours.

Faf acknowledged that they fell 15-20 runs short.

Faf provided an excellent start for the Bengaluru-based franchise, but Virat Kohli wasted many balls. Du Plessis managed 35 runs off 26 balls, but his effort did not benefit the team as Kohli took 20 balls to score 21 runs.

Rajat Patidar and Glenn Maxwell were dismissed for ducks, while Cameron Green contributed only 18 runs.

Anuj Rawat's 48 and Dinesh Karthik's unbeaten 38 helped the team reach a respectable score.

Chennai had an easy time in the batting department. Rachin Ravindra, with 37 runs off 15 balls, along with Ajinkya Rahane and Daryl Mitchell, who contributed 27 runs off 19 balls and 22 runs off 18 balls respectively, made vital contributions to the match.

Mustafizur Rahman was named Player of the Match for taking 4 wickets.
