Following Royal Challengers Bengaluru's victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday, which ended their six-game losing streak, Faf du Plessis expressed confidence. At the post-match ceremony, he commented that in the last two matches, the team demonstrated great determination:
“Earlier against SRH we scored 260 while chasing 270 plus, and then we lost by just 1 run against KKR. We’ve been close to winning for a while now, but you need match victories to boost the team’s confidence. I’ll sleep sound tonight. You can’t just talk confidence into the group or fake it. Performances are the only thing that truly builds confidence.”
Despite Virat Kohli's impressive performance as the leading scorer, Du Plessis is pleased to see other batters regaining their form and contributing to the team's batting efforts.
In their pursuit of 207 runs, the Sunrisers Hyderabad's overly aggressive batting strategy proved ineffective. They fell to 69-5 by the eighth over and were unable to recover from the early setbacks.
