Fans who troll Hardik Pandya at Wankhede Stadium during IPL 2024 may be subject to arrest for security reasons

Hardik Pandya, the newly appointed captain of Mumbai Indians, has been the subject of much discussion. After replacing Rohit Sharma as the team's captain, Pandya faced criticism from fans who trolled him. Mumbai Indians played their first game at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where Pandya faced heavy scrutiny from fans at his former home ground.

Mumbai has lost both of their games so far. The next four games will be played at MI's home ground, the Wankhede Stadium. In response to the current backlash from fans, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has implemented measures to prevent trolling.

Lokmat Marathi reports that MCA has increased security measures and will closely monitor the crowd during the match. Any individual found harassing or trolling Pandya will be detained and potentially ejected from the stadium. Ahead of Mumbai's first home match against Rajasthan Royals, the police face a major challenge in containing Pandya's critics among the crowd.

MCA has implemented these measures following MI's consecutive defeats under Hardik Pandya's captaincy. Security will detain anyone who makes negative comments or chants against Hardik Pandya.

The Mumbai Indians skipper has not won a match in IPL 2024. Many pundits have questioned Pandya's captaincy after the team's loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad, as their batters scored 277 runs, the highest total in IPL history.
