Gastronomic Delights Await Cricketers in Kanpur Ahead of IND vs BAN

As Kanpur prepares to host its first international cricket match in two years, the city is set to roll out a culinary feast for the Indian and Bangladesh players arriving for the 2nd Test at Green Park Stadium. Scheduled to arrive on September 24, the players will enjoy a nine-day stay in the heart of Uttar Pradesh's industrial hub.

A report from TOI reveals that the menu highlights local favourites such as Mutton Nihari, Khamiri Roti, Kakori Kebab, and Mutton Galawati, tailored to suit the players' dietary preferences while also offering a taste of Kanpur's rich culinary heritage. Head chef Balram Singh, along with four chefs from different states who have experience catering to the Bangladesh team, will ensure that every meal meets their expectations.

In addition to local specialities, the diverse menu will include dishes like Lamb chop, Norwegian Salmon, and Snapper, with Chef Balram also ensuring health-conscious options like soy milk and coconut milk curd are available for the players.

Upon arrival, Indian players will be welcomed with the sound of Ram Dhun and a traditional vermilion tilak, while Bangladesh players can expect floral bouquets to greet them before settling into the hotel's amenities.

Currently leading the series 1-0 after their victory in the first Test in Chennai, India is gearing up to face Bangladesh again on September 27. With the Kanpur pitch expected to offer low bounce, it may influence the inclusion of an additional spinner in the team's lineup.
