The best all-rounder in the 2024 Indian Premier League is Sunil Narine. He scored a fifty and a hundred in the 17th season. The left-hander hit his first IPL century against the table-toppers Rajasthan Royals at the Eden Gardens.
He was given another opportunity to open the batting for the two-time champions by mentor Gautam Gambhir, and the results have been nothing short of remarkable.
Narine did not spare the season's best bowler, Yuzvendra Chahal, and hit him for big shots to complete his century.
The left-hander scored 109 runs in 56 balls, including 13 fours and 6 sixes. Former India player Ambati Rayudu credited Gambhir for Narine's hundred:
“Sunil Narine’s hundred belongs to Gautam Gambhir. He is the man behind Sunil’s success in the ongoing season. Gautam gave him confidence after last year’s failure and look at him now. The West Indies player has become a genuine all-rounder for Kolkata.”
Kolkata scored 223/6 after being invited to bat first by Sanju Samson, who won the toss.
