Hardik Pandya appears to be in prime form ahead of India's T20 World Cup 2024 campaign opener against Ireland, showcasing his skills with both bat and ball during intense net sessions. Following a challenging stint with MI in IPL 2024, Pandya bounced back admirably, delivering a stellar performance in the warm-up game against Bangladesh. His impressive knock of 40 runs off just 23 balls, coupled with a wicket in his 3 overs, highlighted his all-round prowess.
In a recent video posted on his Instagram profile, the Indian vice-captain displayed his dynamism in the nets, exhibiting fluent batting strokes and impeccable timing. Additionally, Pandya's bowling efforts were showcased, underscoring his vital role in providing balance to the team throughout the tournament. With his form and confidence evident, Pandya appears ready to make a significant impact in India's quest for T20 World Cup glory.
As per Star Sports reports, the Indian team engaged in a rigorous three-hour training session, during which Hardik Pandya had an insightful conversation with batting coach Vikram Rathour. Notably, Pandya dedicated a special practice session to fine-tuning his skills for the crucial endovers. Acknowledging his recent struggles in the IPL, Pandya openly confronted his poor form, expressing his determination to confront challenges head-on rather than avoiding them.
“These things happen; there are good times and bad times, these are phases that come and go. That is fine. I have gone through these phases many times and I will come out of it as well. I don't take my successes too seriously. Whatever I have done well, I have forgotten about them immediately and moved forward. Same with difficult times," he said.
"I don't run away from it. I face everything with [my] chin up,” Pandya said.
"As they say, this too shall pass. So, coming out [of these phases] is simple: just play the sport, accept that [you need to] maybe get better at your skillset, keep working hard - hard work never goes to waste - and keep smiling,” he further added.
India will begin their campaign against Ireland on June 5, Wednesday and then turn their attention towards the Pakistan clash 4 days later.
