Head Reveals His Choice for India's Next Cricket Superstar

With a bright future ahead, Australian star Travis Head has named his pick for the next Indian cricket sensation. Over the past year and a half, Head has solidified his position as one of the most dangerous batters in international cricket, excelling across all formats—Tests, ODIs, and T20s. His explosive performances have made him a standout, playing a pivotal role in Australia's victories in the 2023 World Test Championship and ODI World Cup finals. Recently, Head claimed the No. 1 T20 batter ranking, surpassing Suryakumar Yadav.

As Australia's men’s team prepares for their upcoming white-ball series in England and a home series against Pakistan, they are also gearing up for an exciting five-match Test series against India, the current Border-Gavaskar Trophy holders.

On a recent Star Sports show, Head was asked to name the next cricketing superstar from India. While both Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill emerged as popular choices, Travis Head confidently picked Shubman Gill as India's future star. Gill, currently India's vice-captain in ODIs and T20Is, has been recognized for his leadership potential and strong performances.

Other Australian players weighed in as well, with Nathan Lyon, Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, and Mitchell Starc praising Yashasvi Jaiswal’s talent, while Cameron Green and Head backed Gill as India's next standout player.

Both Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal will return to action when India faces Bangladesh in a two-match Test series, starting September 19 in Chennai, followed by the second Test in Kanpur.
