India is getting ready for October’s Women’s T20 World Cup in Bangladesh

India's Women's Cricket Team is gearing up for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Bangladesh this October with a series against South Africa in Chennai, which will help them adapt to conditions similar to those in Bangladesh. The team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, is focused on improving consistency in crucial moments, an area where they have struggled in T20Is despite recent success in ODIs.

With Yastika Bhatia recovering, the No. 3 batting spot will be contested by Jemimah Rodrigues and D Hemalatha in the upcoming T20Is. Hemalatha's strength against spinners could be crucial, while Jemimah might be used as a flexible option depending on the situation. The Women’s Premier League has provided valuable exposure, helping the squad prepare more effectively for the World Cup.

The spin attack, led by Deepti Sharma, includes Shreyanka Patil, S Asha, and Radha Yadav, all in good form. The challenge will be to find the right combination, potentially integrating Shreyanka’s off-spin alongside other options, considering Harmanpreet and Hemalatha/Sajana's ability to contribute with the ball if needed.

Jemimah emphasised the importance of consistency and maintaining intensity, particularly in crucial moments, to improve their performance in T20s against stronger teams. The upcoming matches against South Africa and subsequent games in the Asia Cup will be critical in fine-tuning their strategy and team composition ahead of the World Cup.
