India's Historic Victory Over Bangladesh in Kanpur
India achieved a remarkable victory against Bangladesh in the second Test match at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur on Tuesday, despite losing more than two and a half days due to rain. The team's aggressive batting led them to score at an impressive rate of 7.36 runs per over across both innings—the highest recorded for any team in history.
After the match, Ravichandran Ashwin shared his thoughts during a post-game discussion on Jio Cinema, mentioning some intriguing social media posts about "Gamball." He recounted, "When we bowled them out yesterday, Rohit was adamant that we needed to bowl nearly 80 overs at them right from the start. He encouraged us to be aggressive, hitting his first ball for six, which set the tone for the rest of the team."
On the subject of Gautam Gambhir's coaching approach, Ashwin commented, "Coaches are primarily focused on the team's well-being, and I don't perceive major differences in their game tactics or passion for Indian cricket. Their dedication is at the highest level, and they bring a tremendous amount of enthusiasm to the dressing room."
Contrasting the public personas of Gambhir and Rahul Dravid, Ashwin described Gambhir as a "very relaxed" coach, while noting Dravid's structured style. "I think he’s quite laid-back. I’d call him 'relaxed rancho.' There’s no pressure at all. In the mornings, during our team huddle, he casually invites everyone, saying, ‘Are you coming, please come,’" Ashwin elaborated.
"In contrast, Rahul bhai prefers order; even the placement of water bottles is meticulously organised. He is very regimented and seeks to maintain discipline," Ashwin added.
