Kolkata Knight Riders batter Rinku Singh has explained that he has not been fielding in recent matches due to a minor side injury that has restricted his mobility on the field.
Singh expects to return for their next match, which is positive news for KKR fans as his energetic presence boosts their fielding. Singh's commitment and hustle make him a valuable asset to the team.
Rinku smashed a quick 20 off just nine balls, including two sixes, to give the much-needed boost towards the end of the innings against Rajasthan Royals. Asked why he hadn't been in the side earlier, Rinku said it was largely due to the form of KKR's top order.
The southpaw also spoke about Sunil Narine's brilliant century and commented, 'Not much has changed. It's the outcome of his relentless dedication in the nets.'
Sunil Narine scored 109 runs off 56 balls to lead the hosts to a total of 223/6 at a packed Eden Gardens. However, Jos Buttler had other plans. He remarkably pulled the Royals back from the brink when they were 121/6 after 13 overs. Buttler guided his team past the 224-run target off the final ball, even though they needed 46 runs from the last 3 overs.
Batting first on a fresh pitch, Narine blazed to a century off just 49 balls, leading KKR’s charge in this top-of-the-table clash. With supreme confidence and skill, Narine bludgeoned 13 fours and six sixes against one of the IPL's best attacks, inflicting heavy damage.
Although Trent Boult eventually dismissed him, Narine carried the KKR batting lineup in a one-man show. He shared an 85-run stand with Angkrish Raghuvanshi and then added 51 runs with Andre Russell. Narine scored his maiden T20 hundred, batting until the 18th over. However, Buttler had the last laugh as Narine's effort went in vain.
