Gautam Gambhir, the former captain and mentor, aims to revive past championship glory from his 2012 and 2014 title wins. The leadership trio of head coach Chandrakant Pandit, mentor Gambhir, and skipper Iyer are determined to transform the team's fortunes this season.
The spotlight will be on Mitchell Starc, KKR's big-money signing for whom they paid Rs 24.75 crore in the IPL auction. Starc showed good form during KKR's warm-up match at Eden Gardens, bowling with pace and precision. Rinku Singh, who was retained by KKR after his impressive performances as a finisher last season, will aim to continue his winning ways.
