Kishan Poised for International Comeback in T20I Series

Wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan is set to make his long-awaited return to international cricket, with a likely spot in the T20I series against Bangladesh. Kishan's opportunity arises as Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant, among others, are expected to be rested for the three-match series.

With Pant having been the primary wicketkeeper for an extended period, his rest would provide Kishan a valuable chance to step in. The Indian team management is anticipated to adopt a rotation policy to prevent injuries ahead of the 10 Test matches leading up to the World Test Championship (WTC) Final.

Resting key players and giving Kishan an opportunity in the T20 series against Bangladesh aligns with strategic planning. This approach is expected to keep the regular players fresh for the important Test series against New Zealand in October.

Kishan had previously withdrawn from the South Africa tour last year due to mental fatigue and showed a lack of interest in domestic cricket, leading to disciplinary action from the BCCI, including the revocation of his central contract.

Determined to return to the national team, Kishan has since made significant strides. He played for Jharkhand in the Buchi Babu Invitation Tournament, scoring a strong century against Madhya Pradesh. Although he missed the first round of the Duleep Trophy, Kishan impressed in the second round with a brilliant century against India C, earning him a renewed look from selectors.
