Livingstone is now the No. 1-ranked T20I Allrounder
Liam Livingstone has ascended to the top spot in the ICC T20I all-rounder rankings after an impressive Player of the Series performance against Australia. Livingstone's rise saw him leap seven places, overtaking Marcus Stoinis, thanks to his standout contributions of 124 runs and five wickets across the two matches, with the series decider at Old Trafford washed out.
Livingstone moved up England’s batting order to No. 4, having been deployed as a finisher during the T20 World Cup earlier in the year. He seized the opportunity, leading England to a series-levelling victory with a blistering 87 off 47 balls in Cardiff.
“I want the responsibility to win games for England, and the higher up the order, the more chances you have of doing that,” Livingstone said after scoring 37 and taking 3 for 22 in the first T20I.
Livingstone's all-around performance also featured key bowling partnerships with Adil Rashid, which helped England recover from rapid Australia starts.
His stellar form earned him a recall to England's ODI squad for the five-match series against Australia, replacing the injured Jos Buttler. Meanwhile, Travis Head solidified his position as the No. 1 batter in the rankings, and Adam Zampa climbed to fifth in the bowling rankings, keeping the top six bowling spots dominated by spinners.
