Mahmud Decides To Resign From His Position

Former Bangladesh captain Khaled Mahmud has resigned from his position as Director of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), according to a recent report. Mahmud, who was first elected as a director in 2013 after defeating Gazi Ashraf Hossain, has served three consecutive terms. However, his current term was cut short due to political changes in the country.

The political shifts have significantly impacted the BCB, prompting Mahmud's resignation. These changes follow the departure of former BCB president Nazmul Hassan, leading to broader transformations within the board, according to Cricbuzz.

During his tenure, Mahmud played a crucial role in shaping Bangladesh cricket. He notably served as the chairman of the BCB’s Game Development Committee, helping to nurture young talent across the country. One of his major accomplishments was overseeing the Bangladesh Under-19 team’s victory in the ICC Under-19 World Cup in 2020.

In addition to his directorial role, Mahmud also acted as interim head coach and team manager for the national team on several occasions.

Mahmud's resignation is part of a larger wave of departures within the BCB, with other directors, including Jalal Yunus, Shafiul Alam Chowdhury, and Naimur Rahman, also stepping down.
