Mayank Yadav made his debut for LSG. He took three wickets and bowled at an impressive 156 km/h against Punjab Kings

In his IPL debut, Mayank Yadav bowled five deliveries at speeds exceeding 150 km/h in LSG's second match against Punjab Kings in IPL 2024.

Shikhar Dhawan and Jonny Bairstow struggled to handle Yadav's pace, with Bairstow ultimately being dismissed while attempting a big shot on one of Yadav's deliveries.

Yadav now holds the record for the fastest ball in IPL 2024, with his 155.8 km/h delivery surpassing the previous best of Nandre Burger. The South African fast bowler is currently playing for the Rajasthan Royals. His fastest delivery was recorded at 153 mph.

Former Indian player Harbhajan Singh expressed his satisfaction and urged the franchise to give him a consistent run in the 17th season of the tournament:

“Where was he hiding? IPL has unearthed another talent. I am liking his bowling. Lucknow Super Giants should play him all the games. This guy looks set for a better future. It is very rare to find bowlers who can breach the 150 km/h mark.” 

He took his second wicket of the match by dismissing Prabhsimran Singh. Mayank also claimed the wicket of Jitesh Sharma. LSG purchased him for INR 20 lakh.

The 21-year-old represents Delhi in domestic cricket and is a newcomer to the system.
