Mumbai Indians' left-arm pacer ruled out of the 2024 IPL as franchise announce his replacement
Luke Wood will replace the injured Jason Behrendorff for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Mumbai Indians (MI) have announced.
Wood, a left-arm pacer, has played 5 T20Is and 2 ODIs for England, taking 8 T20I wickets. He will join MI for INR 50 lakh.
Injuries are mounting for the franchises ahead of the season. Suryakumar Yadav will miss the first two games of the season as he has not yet recovered from his ankle surgery.
During the fifth and final Test against England, former MI captain Rohit Sharma also experienced stiffness in his back. He has joined Mumbai for the pre-season camp, but there is no information available regarding his fitness.
Dilshan Madushanka, the left-arm fast bowler from Sri Lanka who was signed by MI for INR 4.6 crore, is expected to miss a few games due to a hamstring injury sustained during the second ODI against Bangladesh.
