Naushad, the father of Sarfaraz Khan, received a special gift

Following Sarfaraz Khan's recent Test debut for India, Anand Mahindra, Chairman of the Mahindra Group, presented Naushad Khan, father and childhood coach of cricketers Sarfaraz Khan and Musheer Khan, with a Thar SUV. Mahindra had promised to give Naushad a Thar if Sarfaraz ever played Test cricket, acknowledging Naushad’s crucial role in nurturing his son’s talent from a young age.

After Sarfaraz's Test debut, Anand expressed admiration for Naushad Khan's inspirational parenting in a post on X, praising him for inspiring his son in his cricketing journey.

Anand gifted Naushad Khan a car a month later. Anand has gifted Thars to many athletes to honour their achievements. The businessman also honoured Sarfaraz's father for his role in his son's cricketing success.

Sarfaraz made 62 in the first innings of his Test debut against England at Rajkot. He followed it up with an unbeaten 68 in the second innings. But he struggled in the next Test in Ranchi, taking just 14 and 0. He rebounded in Dharamsala, making 56 to help India seal the series 4-1. Overall, the right-hander finished his maiden Test series with 200 runs at an impressive 50.

After a shocking defeat in the opening match of the series in Hyderabad, India bounced back under the leadership of Rohit Sharma. It won the second Test in Vizag, thus tying the series. The team then gained a 2-1 advantage by taking the third Test in Rajkot. India secured the series in Ranchi and finished with a dominant 4-1 margin overall by closing out the final Test match in Dharamsala.
