New IPL 2024 venue set to thrill Punjab Kings fans

The 17th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), one of the world's biggest leagues, is set to begin soon. All teams will compete for the ultimate glory.

But for this year's IPL, Punjab Kings have made a big change. They will play their home games at a new venue, the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Stadium in Mullanpur, Mohali.

The schedule for the first two weeks of the IPL has been announced. The defending champions, Chennai Super Kings, will face off against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Meanwhile, the Punjab Kings will play their first game on March 23 against the Delhi Capitals.

The Punjab Kings will play their first game in Mohali at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Stadium, which has been hosting domestic matches for the past two years. The stadium has a capacity of 33,000.

Before moving to the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Stadium, Punjab Kings played their home matches in the IPL at Bindra Stadium, which had a capacity of 27,000 people.

The new stadium is reported to have excellent infrastructure, a well-equipped drainage system, international dressing rooms and a gym.

Punjab Kings will host Royal Challengers Bangalore in Mohali on 25 March, but there is only one IPL match scheduled at the moment.

Last season, Shikhar Dhawan's team finished eighth with only six wins in 14 matches. Nevertheless, they are hopeful for a better season this year.
