Nomination of Kohli as an ICC ODI Cricketer

After just missing out on the 15-man roster, Rinku has also travelled to the USA with the team in the reserve role.

The Plan of God! A video featuring Rinku Singh and Virat Kohli laughing while repeating this slogan was posted on the official Instagram account of the Indian Cricket team. The two can be seen uttering the line before Kohli accepts the trophy. Kohli won the ICC Men's ODI Cricketer of the Year award for 2023 before the 2024 T20 World Cup. Rinku Singh made the mantra popular during the 2024 Indian Premier League when the Kolkata Knight Riders won the title for the third time after a ten-year gap.

To win the prize, Kohli defeated Daryl Mitchell of New Zealand and Shubman Gill and Mohammed Shami of India, two of his colleagues. He was also awarded the previous year's Team of the Year cap.

In the 50-over format in 2023, Kohli experienced a comeback despite Team India's heartbreaking loss in the World Cup Final. After scoring 765 runs in 11 games to win Player of the Tournament, he surpassed Sachin Tendulkar's World Cup record of 673 runs set in 2003.

As India looks to win a second T20 World Cup, Kohli, who also won the second Orange Cap (Most Runs) of his career in the IPL 2024, is currently in the USA and the West Indies.

In addition, Kohli leads all run scorers in the T20 World Cup and plans to break even more records this summer.

And 'God's Plan' might mean even more to the guys in blue this year if Rinku's motto comes to pass. After just missing out on the 15-man roster, Rinku has also travelled to the USA with the team in the reserve role.

Since 2013, Team India has not experienced the joy of winning a significant ICC trophy. At only 35 years of age, Kohli is running out of time to fill his amazing individual trophy cabinet with more feathers.
