PCB has proposed a draft schedule for ICC Champions Trophy 2025
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially submitted the draft schedule for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 to the International Cricket Council (ICC) on July 3, with Lahore proposed as the venue for a highly anticipated India vs Pakistan match on March 1.
The tournament is set to feature all 15 matches from February 19 to March 9, spread across Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi presented the tentative schedule during his attendance at the ICC T20 World Cup final in Barbados. Seven games will be held in Lahore, three in Karachi, and five in Rawalpindi, with the opening match in Karachi, the semifinals in Karachi and Rawalpindi, and the final in Lahore.
Despite the assurance of support from all board chiefs of participating countries, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will consult with the Indian government before confirming India's participation in the tournament.
It is worth noting that the ICC cannot force any board to go against its government's policy. The last major tournament held in Pakistan was the Asia Cup 2023, where India did not travel to the country due to government restrictions, resulting in a hybrid tournament format with matches played in Sri Lanka.
