Rashid Khan identifies a player that Gujarat Titans are lacking in IPL 2024

Rashid Khan revealed that Gujarat Titans miss their star fast bowler Mohammed Shami in IPL 2024. Shami has not played cricket since injuring himself in the ODI World Cup 2023 and has been ruled out of the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup in June.

In the 17th season of the tournament, Gujarat Titans have won three and lost as many. According to Rashid Khan, Shami's bowling made things easier for him and the other Gujarat bowlers during the middle overs.

Shami was awarded the Purple Cap last year for taking 28 wickets. Overall, he is ranked second among the leading wicket-takers for GT, having claimed 48 wickets in 33 matches at an economy rate of 8.01, including two four-wicket hauls.

Although GT, who are currently ranked sixth in the table, have faced difficulties, Rashid was pleased with the players' willingness to step up and offer support during a challenging moment. Additionally, he praised the GT bowlers for filling in for Shami.

“We are happy with our bowling unit, but sometimes results don’t go our way. We started our campaign in an upbeat attitude and every player is taking charge. Making the right choices at the proper moment is crucial in T20. Mohit [Sharma] bhai, Spencer Johnson, Darshan Nalkande, Azmat [Omarzai], Umesh [Yadav], and most importantly, Mohit [Omarzai] have all delivered.”
