Indian all-rounder Axar Patel offered insight into Rohit Sharma's straightforward and effective captaincy style. Known for his calm demeanour and strategic thinking, Rohit is highly respected by his teammates. Axar described how Rohit gives his bowlers freedom while preparing meticulously in advance, creating detailed strategies not only for the opposing teams but also for individual players.

"His approach is simple. He doesn’t overcomplicate things. He comes prepared, knowing exactly which bowler will be used in specific situations, and then leaves it to us to execute," Axar shared in an interview with Vimal Kumar on YouTube.

Rohit’s leadership is characterised by minimal interference. "He doesn’t interfere much with the bowlers unless we ask for his input. If I tell him my plan, he supports it fully. But if it doesn’t work, he’ll suggest alternatives without hesitation," Axar added.

Axar also emphasised the great rapport he shares with Rohit, noting they have never argued or disagreed on decisions. "We’ve never had any arguments. Such is our understanding that I’ve always been on the same page as him."

Axar concluded by praising Rohit’s ability to think beyond conventional match-ups, highlighting his trust in his bowlers' strengths. "Rohit doesn’t limit bowlers by thinking a left-arm spinner can’t bowl to a left-handed batter. A good captain knows how to recognize a bowler’s strengths and when they can turn a game around," he said.
