Royal Challengers Bengaluru beat Delhi Capitals by 47 runs to keep their play-off hopes alive

Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Delhi Capitals by 47 runs to record their sixth win in the Indian Premier League 2024. The Faf du Plessis-led franchise remains in the hunt for a play-off spot. Chasing 188 runs, Delhi felt the absence of regular captain Rishabh Pant, who was suspended for one match for three slow over-rates.

RCB's bowlers were at their best from the start as Delhi was restricted to 140 runs in 19.1 overs. Axar Patel, the stand-in skipper, scored 57 runs but the rest of the batsmen failed to score big. Yash Dayal was RCB's pick of the bowlers with three wickets.

Earlier, Bengaluru posted 187/9 after being asked to bat first. Rajat Patidar (52) and Will Jacks (41) led the batting. At the other end for Delhi, Rasikh Salam and Khaleel Ahmed took two wickets each.
