Ravichandran Ashwin, the off-spinner, is playing his 100th test for India. He has crossed the 500-wicket mark in the Rajkot test and has picked up 507 wickets in his test career.
Jonny Bairstow is also playing his 100th test. He has scored 3,309 runs, including five centuries. He has scored 5,974 runs in his test career, including 12 centuries.
England captain Ben Stokes won the toss and elected to bat against India in the fifth and final cricket Test.
India has already secured an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-match series, having won the second test in Visakhapatnam by 106 runs, the third in Rajkot by 434 runs, and the fourth test in Ranchi by five wickets.
