Sanju Samson does not explain the most underrated rivalry in IPL

Rajasthan Royals secured their fifth win in the Indian Premier League 2024 by defeating Punjab Kings by 3 wickets. This victory followed a defeat against the Gujarat Titans. Over the last three years, Punjab and Rajasthan have played many thrilling matches. Irfan Pathan considers it the most underrated rivalry in the cash-rich league.

Meanwhile, RR captain Sanju Samson was unable to explain why the two franchises have produced nerve-wracking matches.

“I don’t know what has happened between Rajasthan and Punjab in the last few years. It is funny that the two teams always play close games. I can’t explain why. We were in a winning position in the last match against Gujarat but lost, and today, we almost lost the contest but won it in the end.”

Shimron Hetmyer was the hero for RR, scoring 27 runs off just 10 balls and securing the win. He was named Player of the Match.

Samson praised his match-winner, stating, 'He was terrific, and that kind of shot he hit comes with experience. He remained calm and secured the victory for us.'
