Smriti Mandhana and Renuka Thakur Rise in ICC T20I Rankings After Women's Asia Cup
Following impressive performances in the Women's T20 Asia Cup, India's Smriti Mandhana and Renuka Singh Thakur have made significant strides in the latest ICC T20I rankings. Mandhana, who played a crucial role in India's campaign, including a vital 60-run knock in the final against Sri Lanka, has moved up to fourth place among batters with 743 rating points.
Renuka Thakur, a standout performer with seven wickets in the tournament, climbed to fifth place among bowlers, earning 722 rating points. She now ranks behind England's Sophie Ecclestone and Sarah Glenn, India's Deepti Sharma, and Pakistan's Sadia Iqbal, who also moved up one spot to fourth.
Radha Yadav, another key player for India, improved her ranking, moving up seven places to 13th after taking six wickets in the tournament.
Sri Lanka's captain Chamari Athapaththu also saw a significant rise, moving up three places to sixth in the batter's rankings with 705 points. Her performance in the Asia Cup, including a match-winning 61 in the final, was instrumental in her team's success.
Other notable movements in the rankings include Pakistan's Muneeba Ali rising six places to 35th among batters, Bangladesh's Nigar Sultana moving up three positions to 14th, and Sri Lanka's Harshitha Samarawickrama reaching 20th after top-scoring in the final with 69 not out.
