Sunrisers Hyderabad have registered their highest team total for the second time in IPL history, scoring 277/3 and 287/3 in two separate matches
Royal Challengers Bengaluru struggled to execute a cohesive bowling strategy against their rivals in the Indian Premier League 2024. During their match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, they conceded runs at an alarming rate. The team led by Pat Cummins set a new record for the highest team total in the history of the cash-rich league, amassing 287/3 in 20 overs, surpassing their previous record of 277/3 against Mumbai Indians. Hyderabad broke their own record against Bengaluru when Travis Head slammed the fourth-fastest hundred in the history of the tournament. Head faced 39 balls, hitting 9 fours and 8 sixes to reach the three-figure mark.
Former India players Robin Uthappa and Irfan Pathan criticized the Faf du Plessis-led team for their wayward bowling.
Head's departure allowed Heinrich Klaasen to aggressively pursue the opposition. The Proteas batsman scored 67 runs off 31 balls, hitting 7 sixes and 2 fours.
Aiden Markram (32 off 17, 2 fours, 2 sixes), Abdul Samad (37 runs off 10 balls, 4 fours, 3 sixes), and Abhishek Sharma (34 runs off 22, 2 fours, 2 sixes) also played with aggression. SRH hit a total of 22 sixes in the game.
The rival batters hammered Reece Topley for 68 runs in 4 overs, Vijaykumar Vyshak for 64 runs in 4 overs, Lockie Ferguson for 52 runs in 4 overs, and Yash Dayal for 51 runs in 4 overs.
