Suryakumar Yadav and his wife wrote a special note for the new captain of CSK, Ruturaj Gaikwad

The Indian Premier League (IPL) brought in a new era when Chennai Super Kings (CSK) announced that MS Dhoni had resigned as captain before IPL 2024. Ruturaj Gaikwad, an emerging opening batter, was appointed as the new CSK captain.

This is the second time the 5-time champions have changed their captaincy. In the 2022 season, star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was made the skipper of CSK, but the Chennai team won only 2 out of 8 games under his captaincy.

The Jadeja incident highlights the challenges that Ruturaj will face in succeeding Dhoni. Mumbai Indians (MI) star Suryakumar Yadav congratulated the 27-year-old on his new role.

Suryakumar posted on his Instagram:

“The fact that you have big shoes to fill, Bhauu, cannot be denied. But I’m sure you will carry on this team’s legacy in style because of your cool-headedness and composure. I’m wishing you luck and love.”
