Suryakumar Yadav suffered a two-ball duck upon his return to action after months. He missed the first three games for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024 but returned to the playing XI for the match against Delhi Capitals.
His stay at the crease was short-lived, however, as Anrich Nortje forced him to go for a big shot that he couldn't time and J Fraser-McGurk had him caught.
SKY injured his ankle in South Africa and failed to recover, leading to surgery to fix the issue. He suffered a sports hernia and underwent surgery for the second time. The recovery process was lengthy.
He did not pass the fitness tests at NCA before the 17th season of the tournament and was not granted a fitness certificate by the medical staff.
Yadav was instructed to continue his rehabilitation in Bengaluru. After completing another recovery period, he was declared fit for the game against DC on April 7 at the Wankhede Stadium.
Yadav has been MI's top performer in the last three seasons, and his return was met with great excitement. Unfortunately, he was unable to make an impact in his first match.
