The first game of the T20 World Cup 2024 between the United States and Canada is set to take place at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas on Saturday, June 1. India, under Rohit Sharma, will kick up their campaign at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on Wednesday, June 5. Sunday, June 9 is the big match between India and Pakistan, led by Babar Azam.
India will play the USA on June 12 and Canada on June 15, respectively. The Men in Blue will be seeking to right the wrong after losing to England by 10 wickets in the semi-final at Adelaide Oval, sending them out of the 2022 T20 World Cup. India has participated in semifinals and finals, but not since the 2007 robbery in South Africa have they held the championship.
The defending champions are England, captained by Jos Buttler, who defeated Pakistan in the last final at the storied Melbourne Cricket Ground. The 2024 edition's grand final will happen at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados on Saturday, June 29.
The only team to have won the competition twice, in 2012 and 2016, is still West Indies. Among the elite teams who haven't taken home the trophy are South Africa, New Zealand, and Bangladesh.
