Tanvir Ahmed Challenges India to Tour Pakistan Amid Security Concerns

Former Pakistan fast bowler Tanvir Ahmed has issued a bold challenge to Team India and the BCCI following comments by former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh about "safety concerns" in Pakistan. In response to reports that the BCCI is hesitant to send the Indian team to Pakistan for the 2025 Champions Trophy, Tanvir urged India to reciprocate Pakistan's willingness to play in India. He highlighted that Pakistan has been consistent in touring India despite past tensions.

"We have shown courage by playing in your country," Tanvir stated. "If you have the courage, come to Pakistan and play. We will provide security and everything you need."

The last time India toured Pakistan was in 2006, and since the 2008 Mumbai attacks, the BCCI has refrained from sending the national team to Pakistan. As Pakistan is set to host the 2025 Champions Trophy, there have been reports that the BCCI is requesting a neutral venue for India's matches.

This controversy mirrors the situation during the 2023 Asia Cup, also hosted by Pakistan, where the BCCI insisted that India's matches be held in Sri Lanka due to security concerns, a request that was eventually granted.

"Only Pakistani players have shown the bravery to come and play in India," Tanvir remarked, responding to Harbhajan Singh's earlier comments, where Harbhajan expressed doubts about Pakistan's safety and supported the BCCI's stance, pointing out player security.

The debate over the 2025 Champions Trophy venue continues, with the tournament scheduled from February 19 to March 9, 2025.
