Team has been a consistent team for a very long time

Jemimah Rodrigues, an India batter, stated on Thursday that the team is dedicated to improving their fielding skills, which she considers a "game-changer." This focus on fielding comes ahead of the upcoming three-match Women's T20I series against South Africa. Rodrigues highlighted the importance of maintaining high standards in fielding during a press conference before the first T20I match against South Africa in Chennai.

Rodrigues, who received praise for her fielding efforts during the recent Test match against South Africa, commended head coach Amol Muzumdar for emphasising fitness and fielding. The team has been working hard on these areas, with fitness sessions held early in the morning and fielding sessions in the evening during their training camp at the NCA.

The upcoming T20I series serves as India's final preparation before the Asia Cup (T20) and the T20 World Cup. Rodrigues also expressed confidence in the team's experience gained from the Women's Premier League, which she believes will be beneficial during the World Cup.

The T20 World Cup is scheduled to take place in Bangladesh from October 3 to 20, and both India and South Africa are focused on honing their skills and strategies ahead of the tournament. South African skipper Laura Wolvaardt emphasised the importance of fielding the best playing XI during the T20 series against India to prepare for the World Cup. She mentioned experimenting with spin options during the series to counter India's spin-heavy bowling lineup.

With both teams striving to improve their performances in all departments, the T20I series promises to be an exciting and competitive encounter as they gear up for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
