Terror Threat to India vs England 4th Game in Ranchi: Blackmailer Attempts to Disrupt Match
Before the fourth game of the five-match Test series set to happen in Ranchi on February 23, shocking news has emerged. A terrorist threat has cast a shadow over the India-England cricket Test match in Jharkhand. The Sikhs for Justice organisation has warned that the match, scheduled for 23 February, will be cancelled. There is also a separate threat asking the England cricket team to consider returning home.
Following this, the Ranchi Police have begun investigating. Senior police officials are overseeing the case. They are working with Ranchi's District Collector, Rahul Sinha. The process of verifying the audio-video content of the threat is underway. In connection with this incident, an FIR has been filed in Ranchi.
The FIR mentions the posting of a video on YouTube by Gurpatwant Singh Pannu of Sikhs for Justice. In the video, he appealed to the banned Bhakpa (Maoist) organisation in India intending to disrupt the India-England cricket Test.
Pannu has encouraged them to incite unrest in Jharkhand and Punjab, aiming to prevent the captains of the Indian and England cricket teams, Rohit Sharma and Ben Stokes, from participating in the match.
The video shows Gurpatwant Singh Pannu inciting Bhakpa Maoists and expressing opposition to cricket being played on tribal land. The administration believes that this is an attempt to disrupt diplomatic sports ties between two friendly nations and impede the game through the banned Maoist organisation.
Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, who is originally from Punjab but currently resides in the United States, has also threatened the England cricket team to leave in the video. This has been categorised as clear terrorist involvement as the FIR filed at the police station.
