The chairman of IPL 2024 aims to ensure that the second half of the tournament remains in India during the elections

The IPL 2024 season is scheduled to commence on March 22, with RCB facing CSK in the opening match of the lucrative league. Prior to the upcoming season, there were reports that the second half of the tournament might be relocated due to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The Election Commission of India has recently released the schedule for the upcoming elections. The elections will be held from April 19, and the counting is scheduled for June 2. The first phase of IPL 2024 fixtures is from March 22 to April 7.

IPL chairman Anil Dhumal has stated that the board is doing its best to avoid shifting the tournament out of India, contrary to the reports. In an interview with IANS, Arun Dhumal stated that they are collaborating with government agencies and will plan accordingly once the general election dates are announced. He expressed hope that the second phase of IPL will take place in India and not be relocated.
