After celebrating the dismissal of Rohit Sharma, a 63-year-old Chennai Super Kings fan was fatally beaten by rival fans during a violent altercation.
The alleged assault of Bandupant Tibile took place in Hanmantwadi, Kohlapur on March 27, 2024. Balwant Jhanjge and Sagar Jhanjge allegedly beat Tibile with a stick and a wooden board. The suspects attacked Tibile during the Indian Premier League 2024 match between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad because he cheered when Sharma was dismissed.
During the match, a physical altercation occurred between the two groups, resulting in injuries.
Tibile was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. As a result of his death, the local police took the two perpetrators into custody.
