The RR vs LSG match in IPL 2024 was stopped due to a bizarre reason
The IPL 2024 match between Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Sunday was interrupted when a spider cam wire snapped and fell onto the pitch. The incident occurred after only two balls had been bowled, with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler at the crease.
Ground staff promptly removed the wire and play resumed after a short delay, with both franchises still vying for a win.
Sanju Samson won the toss and elected to put Lucknow Super Giants to bat first.
Both the teams will be playing their first match of the 17th edition of the tournament. Sanju Samson stated that the pitch is looking good and, with some new combinations in their team, they have decided to bat first.
KL Rahul, on the other hand, would have batted first if he had won the toss. He mentioned that chasing over here is not bad and that the pitch will remain the same for 40 overs.
Meanwhile, Jos Buttler scored 11 runs and Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 24 runs against the Lucknow-based team. Captain Sanju Samson scored 50 runs and Riyan Parag scored 30 runs. At the time of writing, the team had scored 117/2 in 12.4 overs.
