Hardik Pandya had a difficult start to his second stint with Mumbai Indians. The all-rounder has been blamed for his team's losses in the first two matches against Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad. He has not made the right decisions while leading the five-time champions in the Indian Premier League 2024.
Fans are criticising him for replacing Rohit Sharma as MI captain and leaving Gujarat Titans.
During the first game against GT, a significant portion of the crowd made Pandya uncomfortable by booing him and displaying banners accusing him of betraying their trust.
Hardik is receiving support from current and former players. His former Mumbai Indians teammate, Trent Boult, who now plays for Rajasthan Royals, has encouraged him to ignore distractions and concentrate on his game:
“Hardik is one of my favourite cricketers. There are a lot of passionate fans in India. However, the boos will not continue for a long time. Hardik has enough experience to ignore what is being said.”
