The squads for the Duleep Trophy 2024 are revised

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has revised the squads for the Duleep Trophy 2024, following the release of key players like Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav, who have been called up for national duties.

The Ajit Agarkar-led senior men’s selection committee made significant changes to the squads for the second round of the tournament. All players, except Sarfaraz Khan, who was selected for India's first Test against Bangladesh, have been released to join a preparatory camp in Chennai starting on September 12. The first Test is scheduled to begin on September 19.

Suryakumar Yadav, still recovering from injury, has been given additional time to regain full fitness. He is expected to join the India C squad, which remains unchanged, before the third round.

India A has seen multiple replacements, with Pratham Singh (Railways), Akshay Wadkar (Vidarbha CA), and SK Rasheed (Andhra CA) stepping in for Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, and Dhruv Jurel. Left-arm spinner Shams Mulani will replace Kuldeep Yadav, and Aaqib Khan (UPCA) will take Akash Deep's spot. Mayank Agarwal has been appointed captain of India A.

In the India B squad, Suyash Prabhudessai and Rinku Singh will replace Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant, who have joined the national team. Yash Dayal has earned his first call-up to the national team, while Sarfaraz Khan will compete in the second round before joining the national squad. Himanshu Mantri has also been added to India B.

Axar Patel has been released from India D to join the national team, with Nishant Sindhu named as his replacement. Tushar Deshpande, due to injury, will miss the second round, and Vidwath Kaverappa has been called up to replace him in the India A squad.
