Two top teams India and Australia clash on November 22

As the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) nears, excitement is building around what is considered one of cricket's most intense rivalries: India versus Australia. The series, beginning on November 22, will see the top two Test teams clash, raising anticipation across the cricketing world.

Australian batter Usman Khawaja reflected on the significance of the rivalry, stating, "We're the world number one and number two teams over the last two years. We were together at the last World Test Championship. The rivalry has always been huge. I see it as a sign of respect, and I know that Indians love beating Australia in any form of cricket," he shared with Star Sports.

Khawaja also spoke about Australia's legacy of dominance in world cricket. "The tradition that Australia has built over the years has cemented our reputation as one of the top teams globally," he added.

Highlighting India’s determination to overcome Australia, Khawaja said, "For Indians, it’s always been important to beat Australia."

He further explained that the growth of Indian cricket, particularly through the Indian Premier League (IPL), has added a new layer to this rivalry. India's recent success, including back-to-back series wins in Australia, has intensified the competition. "Since the rise of India and the IPL, and after India beat Australia in Australia the last two times, it just means a little bit more," Khawaja remarked.

The second Test, from December 6 to 10 at Adelaide Oval, will feature a thrilling day-night format under the lights. The series then moves to The Gabba in Brisbane from December 14 to 18 for the third Test, followed by the iconic Boxing Day Test at Melbourne Cricket Ground from December 26 to 30. The series will conclude with the final Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground from January 3 to 7, promising a dramatic finale to an exciting contest.
