The ICC has confirmed that Dubai and Sharjah will host a total of 23 matches for the Women's T20 World Cup 2024, which will take place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The event was moved from Bangladesh due to political instability in the region, with the UAE selected as the new host country.
Matches will be held at both the Dubai International Cricket Stadium and the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The first semi-final is slated for October 17 in Dubai, followed by the second semi-final on October 18. Both the semi-finals and the final will have a designated reserve day.
The tournament will culminate with the grand final on October 20 in Dubai. One of the highlight clashes will see Harmanpreet Kaur's India face off against Fatima Sana's Pakistan on October 6 in Dubai. Additionally, India will compete against New Zealand and Sri Lanka on October 4 and October 9, respectively, also in Dubai.
India's last group match will be against Australia on October 13, again in Dubai. Should India progress to the semi-finals, they will participate in the first semi-final held in Dubai.
Prior to the tournament, India will play their first warm-up match against the West Indies on Sunday, September 29, at ICCA2 in Dubai. They will then face South Africa in their second practice match on Tuesday, October 1, at ICCA1, Dubai. In total, there will be 10 warm-up matches scheduled over four days leading up to the tournament's kickoff on October 3.
The opening day of the World Cup will feature two matches: Bangladesh will take on Scotland in Sharjah, followed by a match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka at the same venue.
