Women's Test Match in Lord's Cricket Ground
In a historic first, Lord's Cricket Ground will host a women's Test match in 2026, with India set to face England. While Lord's has previously seen women's cricket matches, including ODIs and T20Is, this will be the venue's first foray into women's Test cricket.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced on August 22 that the iconic stadium will be the stage for this one-off Test match. Lord's, established in 1814 and renowned as the Home of Cricket, hosted its first international match in 1884 but has yet to feature a women’s Test match until now.
In December 2023, India defeated England by 347 runs in a one-off women's Test at DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. This match was part of India's growing influence in international women’s cricket.
Ahead of this historic Test, the Indian women's team will tour England in 2025 for a white-ball series. This tour will include a five-match T20 series in Nottingham from June 28 to July 12, followed by a three-match ODI series from July 16 to July 22.
Additionally, the Indian men's team will also visit England in 2025 for a five-match Test series. The series will commence at Headingley on June 20, with subsequent Tests at Birmingham, Lord's, Manchester, and London.
